About Minimums

Minimums helps you read aviation weather and compare it with your personal limits. This policy explains information used by the app, its connected services, and your choices. No Minimums account is required. Purchases and subscriptions use your Apple account.

Information on your device

Minimums stores favorite airports, personal minimums, display preferences, recent searches, and app activity statistics locally. Favorite records include airport identifiers, names, and airport coordinates. Weather and airport-publication caches reduce repeat downloads and support limited use without a connection; cached information may become stale or unavailable for an assessment.

You can remove favorites and clear recent searches in the app. Other local records are subject to the app's storage behavior and your device's storage, backup, and restore settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription or remove Apple's purchase records.

Optional location

With your permission, Minimums uses location while you use the app to find nearby airports, calculate distances, and center the map. Nearby selection and distance calculations run on your device. Weather requests contain the selected airport identifiers, which can reveal the area being viewed. Apple's map services are also used when displaying the map and your location.

You can deny or change location permission in iOS Settings. Search and the other subscribed features do not require location permission.

Weather and airport services

Minimums requests observations and forecasts from aviationweather.gov using airport identifiers. Regional station discovery uses predefined U.S. geographic bounding boxes rather than boxes generated from your device location. The app downloads FAA airport publications from nfdc.faa.gov to update runway geometry and field elevations.

These connections use HTTPS. Service providers receive the requested resource and network information needed to deliver it. Their own logging and retention practices apply; we do not represent that these connections send no information or that providers retain no records.

Apple services and purchases

Maps use Apple MapKit. Purchases, restores, subscription management, and access checks use Apple StoreKit and App Store services. Minimums reads verified purchase and subscription information to determine access and display purchase status. Where applicable, recognized legacy access is recorded locally.

Apple processes these services under its applicable terms and privacy information. Manage subscriptions through Apple's subscription settings. Deleting Minimums does not remove Apple's purchase records or cancel subscriptions.

Sharing and support

Sharing a weather report opens the iOS share sheet; the destination you choose receives the shared content. If you email support, the recipient receives your address, message, attachments, and other information you send. The app's bug-report action prepares version/build, device-model, and iOS-version details that you can review before sending.

Minimums is operated by Brandon Beals. You can contact [email protected] about the app or this website. The website uses Plausible analytics. If you choose a website appearance, the site stores that preference locally in your browser; it does not affect the app’s settings. Support email includes the address, message, and attachments you choose to send.

Your choices and contact

You can control location permission, remove favorite airports, clear recent searches, choose where to share reports, and decide what to include in support emails.
